GENERAL BODY MEETING OCTOBER 28, 2010

The next GEBS General Body Meeting will be
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28TH
1 PM
Room 207

We will set the calendar for the academic year and assign volunteer roles.

If there is a volunteer opportunity you have, whether on campus or off, and would like to extend an invitation of GEBS please e-mail Megan

Do you know about the PEMBROKE ROOM?

You probably do not. The Pembroke Room is located next to the CBE office. Here's how to find it: on the first floor, north of the business office, it is the first door on the left after the double doors that lead to the stair case. It is a room where you can go to take a nap, study, or socialize. Just remember to keep noise at a minimum (there are offices in the hall), and to keep it clean. If it is locked and you would like to gain access, and Megan, Cherida, nor Reggie are around, ask Michele in the business office for the key.

Enjoy!

GEBS NEWS
October 11, 2010

ATTENTION ALL GEBS MEMBERS!!!!
PLEASE COMPLETE THE GEBS FALL 2010 ACTIVITIES SURVEY IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO!
If you have misplaced your original e-mail invitation, as well as followup invitation to this survey, please access and complete the survey at the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R7HGG9T
This survey will be closed as of Friday, October 15th at 9am. Once this survey is completed, a list of GEBS volunteer opportunities can be generated.

INTER-GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Women's Center is sponsoring an ongoing display and sale of beaded jewelry made by women in Uganda. This will begin mid-November. All proceeds go directly to the Ugandan women. If you would like to participate in the sale and display of this jewelry, or would like to volunteer to help in some other capacity (creating and posting flyers, etc), please contact Mary Jane Huber at mary.huber@garrett.edu. More information about this program can be found at www.beadsofhopeafrica.org

The Beatitudes Society will be returning to Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia to protest the W.H.I.N.S.E.C. formerly known as the School of the Americas. The protest is November 19th - 21st. Once a list of those who are participating is compiled, carpooling can be arranged based on what days people are available to go, as well as when people need to return. For more information of the SOA and this protest, go to www.soaw.org. There is also a need for volunteers to post flyers and get signatures for the petition to close the SOA. Contact Abigail Ozanne at abigail.ozanne@garrett.edu for further information.
